CAMP : blind CAN year ONE

- Join Blind Poet Dave Steele & Blind Filmmaker Ben Fox

for Five days of camping (with luxury amenities) at Wallwoood's 650 ACRE Lake Front property.

DAY 1 (Sunday May 19, 2024):

- CHECK in begins at noon / settle in

- BLIND EXPLORE with TECH and sighted guides until dinner

- 6 PM : DINNER by Team 1

- 7:30 = OPENING CEREMONY

DAY 2 (Monday May 20) :

- Writing by the WATER, Poetry with the Blind Poet Dave Steele after Breakfast

- Trail Walking with HAPTIC technology to guide the way (in TEAMS)

- Blind MARCO and POLO in the pool (in TEAMS)

- Dinner by Team 2

- Sunset Skits (improv) at the Amphitheater

DAY 3 (Tuesday May 21)

- Writing by the WATER

- 4 Sonar Flags on WATER / Retrieve by canoe... (in TEAMS)

- BEEPING ARCHERY

- Dinner by TEAM 3

- POETRY JAM at the amphitheater

DAY 4 (Wednesday May 22)

- FINAL Writing by the WATER w/ Dave Steele

- CELEBRATION breakfast by TEAM 4

- World's largest DRIVING BLIND event (in a giant field)

- Creating WORLDS LARGEST BRAILLE ART / the word LOVE in a GIANT field

- Awards Ceremony in the Amphitheater

OPTIONAL activity / build your own outdoor shelter to sleep in the final night with provided materials.

DAY 5 (Thursday May 23)

- Blind Cleaning Skills practice LOL and FREE TIME around camp all day

 - - final shuttle to airport leaves at 6 PM

- - - CAMP blind CAN has a TOTAL of 20 spots for participants for this FIRST YEAR, each asked to be part of the blind CAN Film Festival FILM titled "Camp: Blind CAN" / STAFF is counted separately.

Camp Wallwood INCLUDES:

- Outdoor Amphitheater

- Dining Hall seats 300 with fully equipped commercial kitchen

- 3 DOCKs with Sailboats, Rowboats, and canoes for everyone!

- GIANT Heated Pool / Pool house w/ (open air option) class room / seats 40

- All the traditional summer camp activities like Archery range and basketball courts

- MANY on property well maintained water front hiking trails

- 200 bunks in cabins with electric and plumbing*

- 100 Canvas tents with wooden platforms*
